How much does a Facebook business page cost?
A Facebook business page is free. Meta doesn't charge you to create a page, post, reply to messages, add your services or collect reviews. You only pay if you choose to: boosting posts or running ads, an optional Meta Verified subscription, or paying someone to design and manage the page for you.
What is free on a Facebook business page?
Everything you need to run a working page costs nothing:
- Creating the page from your personal Facebook profile, with your business name, category, hours, address, phone number and website.
- Posting photos, videos, Reels, offers and events as often as you like.
- Messenger for customer questions, including saved replies and automatic answers to common questions.
- Reviews and recommendations from customers.
- Meta Business Suite for scheduling posts to Facebook and Instagram and seeing basic insights.
- A call, book or message button at the top of the page.
The catch is reach. Free posts mostly reach people who already follow you, and only a share of them. That's why most businesses eventually spend some money, either on ads or on someone's time.
What costs money?
- Boosted posts and ads: you set the budget, from a few dollars a day. Meta charges by the auction, so the price per click or lead varies by industry and area.
- Meta Verified for business: an optional monthly subscription that adds a verified badge, account protection and access to support. It isn't required to run a page or ads.
- Design: a cover photo, profile image and post templates, if you hire a designer.
- Content and management: someone to plan, create and post content, reply to comments and messages, and report on results.
- Ads management: someone to build, test and optimize your campaigns. This fee is separate from what you pay Meta.

Boosting posts vs running ads
Boosting is the quickest way to spend money on Facebook: pick a post, an audience and a budget, and Meta shows it to more people. It works for getting an event, a new menu or an announcement seen.
For calls, bookings or leads, use Ads Manager instead. It lets you choose a leads or sales objective, test different ads against each other, and track what happens after the click. Boosting usually gets likes; Ads Manager is built to get customers.
Is Meta Verified worth it for a small business?
Meta Verified gives your page a verified badge, extra protection against impersonation and access to account support. It can make sense if people copy your page, if you've lost access to accounts before, or if you depend on Facebook for most of your sales.
For most local businesses it isn't the first thing to pay for. A complete page with clear contact details, real photos and recent reviews does more to win trust than a badge. Meta shows the current price for your country inside Meta Business Suite before you subscribe.

Doing it yourself vs paying for help
| Option | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself | Free, plus your time and any ad spend | Owners with a few hours a week and a phone camera |
| Training, then DIY | From $180 one-off with Levela, plus ad spend | Owners who want to run it but need a solid setup |
| Ads management | From $700 a month with Levela, plus ad spend paid to Meta | Businesses that want leads without learning Ads Manager |
Whichever you choose, keep ownership of the page and the ad account in your own Meta Business account, and add anyone who helps as a partner or with limited access.
